The Brief

There's a new design event coming to St. John's.

Your challenge is to create a promotional poster that introduces the event and gets people excited to attend. Think about what would catch the attention of designers, spark curiosity, and communicate the spirit of a community built around creativity, critique, and growth.

The audience is graphic designers of all ages and experience levels, from students and emerging creatives to seasoned professionals.

How you interpret the event is entirely up to you. You can focus on the community, the challenge, the feedback, the conversations, or the culture surrounding design itself.

There are no restrictions on style, aesthetic, or approach. Bold, minimal, experimental, typographic, illustrative, follow the idea wherever it leads.

The first event will take place on July 9th at 170 Water Street. However, for the purposes of this challenge, the date and location are not important. Think of this poster as a piece of promotional material for the event as a whole, rather than a poster for a specific night.

In fact, these designs may be used to help promote future Critique events if there's enough interest, so consider creating something with a broader appeal that can live beyond a single date.

Deliverables

Keep in Mind

No clients. No grades. Just an opportunity to explore an idea, create something you're proud of, and share it with other designers.

Good luck!! We can't wait to see what ends up on the wall.
